RELATED: See Jennifer Grey’s Teen Daughter, Who Looks Just Like Her. Iris signed with IMG models in 2019. She has appeared in a Marc Jacobs campaign and walked in Miu Miu’s 2020 virtual Fashion Week show, as reported by British Vogue. She’s also a Dior beauty ambassador. During quarantine, when acting and modeling gigs were harder to come by, Iris, her boyfriend Jyrrel Roberts, and her friend Lila Moss—daughter of Kate Moss (who’s also Iris’ godmother)—produced a virtual cookbook to raise money for Meals for the NHS, a charity that supports healthcare workers in the U.K. Following that, Iris shared her recipes again, with the money raised going to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Iris’ first acting gig is a starring role on the FX series Pistol, which is based on guitarist Steve Jones’ memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, following the rise of the British punk scene. To embody punk icon Soo Catwoman, Iris buzzed off her hair and she says she has no regrets. “I wanted to do something that felt liberating,” she told British Vogue for the August issue. “The day I shaved my head, I changed my life. I’ve never done anything like that before.” After the British Vogue article was published, Iris took to TikTok to share her new look. The beginning of the TikTok features Iris with her usual long brown hair. Then she reveals that it’s a wig, pulls it off, and showcases her blonde buzz cut beneath it. Iris told British Vogue that she was originally nervous that she would have to get a buzz cut to take on the role of Soo Catwoman. But once she found out that she could actually just wear a wig, she felt differently. “When the wig became a possibility, I was almost disappointed,” she told British Vogue. Iris then went on to change up her own hair for the role anyway. For more celeb content delivered straight to your inbox, sign up for our daily newsletter. Iris said she brought a bottle of Moët champagne to pop after the cut was done because she anticipated that the moment would be difficult. “I looked in the mirror and thought it was going to be emotional, but it wasn’t. It felt so positive,” she told British Vogue. She said that she’s received a range of responses from, “Why did you do that?” to, “You look like a boy!” and, “Oh well, hair grows!” However, Iris said the critiques don’t bother her. “I’m just so confident in it that I don’t care,” she said with a shrug. And the people who matter most to Iris are fully in support of the new ‘do, which she’s been showing off on social media since the big reveal. “The many faces of my baby girl,” her mom, who’s also an actor, posted on Instagram along with photos of Iris’ buzz cut from Vogue. “Well done iris on everything you have achieved this year- 1st year studying textiles at st martins .. and playing cat girl in @pistoltvseries ❤️ plus baking many many cakes and dishes .. ?????♀️? love you squidge.” RELATED: 18 Actors Who Looked Unrecognizable in Major Movies.
